One easy way you can help victims of domestic violence is to donate your old cell phones. Cell phones are reprogrammed and used as 911 Emergency phones for individuals in the community at risk of domestic violence. This communication may provide a critical link between law enforcement and a victim of domestic violence who is in a life threatening emergency.
Cell Phones not utilized for this purpose will be donated to the Verizon Wireless Hopeline Grant Program which in turn recycles the phones to support Domestic Violence Grant Programs across the country.
Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation, Inc. has partnered with the Verizon Wireless Hopeline Foundation in collecting old cell phones for these purposes. There are three Verizon Hopeline donation boxes currently located in the Rockville core to receive your donations;
• County Office Building on the 2nd floor by the Cafeteria
• Executive Office Building on the Terrace Level by the Cafeteria
• Montgomery County Judicial Center in the Lobby near the Information Desk

To mail in your old phone for recycling, print the free postage-paid label, affix it to a box/envelope and drop it in the mail.
